HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Permian travels to face Midland High

The Permian Panthers go for their second consecutive victory at Midland’s Chaparral Center when they take on Midland High at 7:30 p.m. Friday in District 2-6A boys basketball action.

Permian (22-3 overall, 4-0 district) is coming off a 65-37 victory over Midland Lee that extended the Panthers’ win streak to 14 games and kept them atop the 2-6A standings. Midland High (11-14, 2-2) is tied for third in district following Tuesday’s 71-53 victory at Wolfforth Frenship.

In the girls game at 6 p.m., Permian (11-14, 1-5) looks to stay in playoff contention, while Midland High (20-11, 4-2) tries to get back atop the district standings.
