HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Permian goes 1-1 on final day of tournament

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS The Permian boys soccer team won its first match but then lost its first game of the season in its final contest of the Richland Winter Blast Friday at the Birdville ISD Fine Arts/Athletic Complex.

Elimiano Duran and Marcus Aguirre each scored an unassisted goal in a 2-1 victory against North Crowley in the Panthers’ opening match of the day.

The second time on the pitch, Permian’s Erickson Portillo finished a set up by Johnny Cuellar and Jacob Franco but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers lost, 2-1, to Fort Worth Paschal.

The Panthers are now 2-1-1 on the season and will play in the Governor’s Cup next week in Georgetown.
