HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Late goals lift El Paso Pebble Hills past Permian

El Paso Pebble Hills scored a pair of goals 77 seconds apart late in the second half to defeat Permian, 2-0, in a Class 6A bi-district playoff game Thursday at Ratliff Stadium.

Yair Terrazas scored in the 74th minute, his shot traveling from the left side of the box to the upper right corner of the net.

Micah Lay capitalized on a scrum in front on a corner kick moments later, deflecting the ball inside the left post to put the game away with 5:02 remaining to play.

Permian finished the season 15-8-1, while the Spartans improved to 16-7-2 and will face the winner of North Crowley-Byron Nelson in the area round next week.
