HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS: Odessa High, Permian set to begin state meet

Gymnasts from Permian and Odessa High begin their runs toward titles when the 2022 Texas High School Gymnastics State Championships get underway Thursday at Rockwall High School.

The boys take the floor first at 10 a.m., followed by the girls at 4 p.m., with all athletes performing compulsory routines.

The Permian boys team will begin its competition on the rings, followed by vault, parallel bars, high bar, floor excercise and pommel horse. The top six teams will be reseeded entrying Friday’s option round.

Odessa High boys team members who qualified individually will compete alongside Chisholm Trail and Euless Trinity on the first day, while Permian girls individual qualifiers will compete with El Paso Bel Air and Abilene High athletes.
