HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Permian dominates second half against San Angelo Central

The Permian football team, after a back-and-forth first half that saw San Angelo Central take a lead into the locker room at halftime, took over following the break.

Juzstyce Lara scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter to put the Panthers back in front and then Ja’Quan Richardson hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Rodney Hall in the fourth quarter to cap off a 43-31 victory.

Permian improved to 8-1 overall with the victory, 3-1 in District 2-6A and clinched a playoff berth.

San Angelo Central dropped to 5-4, 2-2 and also clinched a postseason spot in spite of the loss.

Lara finished with five touchdowns on the night, giving him 18 this season.

The Panthers close out the regular season against Midland High at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Ratliff Stadium.
