HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Permian surges past Midland High for second straight win

MIDLAND The Permian boys basketball team defeated Midland High by a 77-60 score Friday to grab its second straight win in District 2-6A play.

After a close first quarter, the Panthers built a comfortable advantage with scoring surges in the second and third periods.

Although the Bulldogs outscored Permian 20-17 in the fourth quarter, the Panthers already had the contest under control.

Jamobrione Anderson led the Panthers with 18 points scored, while Ben Saldivar contributed 15 and Race Herr scored 14.

Tremayne Baty was Permian’s fourth-leading scorer in the contest with 12 points.

The Panthers (21-7 overall, 5-3 district) will look to extend their winning streak against San Angelo Central at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Permian Fieldhouse.
