SAN ANGELO The Odessa High baseball team took the lead in the third inning and broke the game open in the fourth inning en route to a 14-2 victory against San Angelo Central Saturday at Donsky Field.

The Bronchos improved to 14-7-2 overall, 3-3 in District 2-6A, with the game ending on a 10-run rule after five innings.

Angel Villa earned the victory, scattering five hits and allowing two runs in five innings of work.

JoeLuis Charles and Villa each had three RBIs, with Zorian Del Real adding two to the victory.

Odessa High scored a single run in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead, then pushed five runs across the plate in the fourth inning and seven more in the fifth.

Long afternoon

Casen Yonts, Jace Martinez and Andres Cordero all hit home runs to lead Midland Legacy to 9-5 victory against Permian in District 2-6A play Saturday at McCanlies Field.

Yonts’ blast was the backbreaker, a three-run homer ni the fourth inning that put the Rebels in front, 7-0.

Permian (11-11-2 overall, 3-3 in district) scratched back three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning but couldn’t get back in the game.

Gavin Thompson and Cayden Sullivan each had two hits to lead the Panthers, with Cal Warren driving in two runs.
