HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Panthers use big second inning in run-rule win over Abilene High

It only took five innings for the Permian baseball team to defeat Abilene High 17-6 in District 2-6A play Tuesday at McCanlies Field.

The Panthers took control of the contest early, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Xavier Melendez led Permian (21-3 overall, 10-0 district) with four RBIs, while Caleb Boswell allowed seven hits in five innings pitched.
