Tough finish for Bronchos

SAN ANGELO San Angelo Central scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 5-4 victory against Odessa High on Thursday at Donsky Field.
Odessa High (12-7-1 overall, 1-3 District 2-6A) scored three runs in the top of the first inning and added a solo run in the fifth for a 4-3 lead.
Sebastian Cabral, Wiki Deleon and Angel Villa all had two hits for Odessa High, which will host the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pressly Field.
JJ Reyes, Riley McGarry and Jimmy Edwards all had two hits for San Angelo Central, with Edwards driving in the winning run on a single.

Big inning fuels Rebels

Midland Legacy scored nine runs in the third inning to take the lead and never looked back in a 10-4 victory against Permian in District 2-6A play Thursday at McCanlies Field.
Permian (10-10-2 overall, 2-2 in district) led 2-o after two innings before the visiting Rebels sent 13 hitters to the plate in the top of the third inning, with Casen Yonts hitting a grand slam in the outburst.
Bryson Baer hit a solo home run for the Panthers in the third inning, with Jax Sims finishing with two hits to pace the offense.
The three-game series continues Friday at 6 p.m. Friday at Legacy’s Ernie Johnson Field.
