GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Lady Panthers suffer district loss against San Angelo Central

The Permian girls basketball team fell by a 50-35 score against San Angelo Central in District 2-6A play Tuesday at the Permian Fieldhouse.

Permian kept things close early and trailed by one point at the end of the first quarter, but fell behind after being outscored 14-4 in the second period.

The Lady Panthers couldn’t get things going in the right direction in the second half, being outscored 23-19 in the third and fourth quarters.

Bailey Wight and Jamie Redic tied for the team lead in scoring, recording 12 points each for the Lady Panthers.

Deandra Allen scored 12 points to lead the Lady Cats.

Permian (5-18 overall, 3-8 district) has an open date Friday before closing out its season against Midland Legacy at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 in Midland.
