Canyen Rodriguez of Portland has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the UTPB volleyball team. She is planning on majoring in Business.
Rodriguez will be transferring to UTPB after playing one year at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
Rodriguez had a strong freshman year at Molloy. She ranked among the top five in the East Coast Conference for assists per set (8.03) and service aces per set (0.49). Rodriguez helped the Lions qualify for the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Rodriguez earned four letters at Gregory-Portland High School. She was a two-time All-District first team selection. As a senior, she guided the Wildcats to a 40-9 record and reached the regional semi-finals.
