The UTPB softball team was picked to finish last in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll which was released earlier this week.
The Falcons were picked to finish 15th.
UT-Tyler, last year’s conference champion, was picked to finish first while West Texas A&M and Oklahoma Christian were picked second and third, respectively.
UTPB went 8-42 overall (5-37 in conference) last year.
The Falcons will begin their season against Fort Lewis at 11 a.m. Feb. 2 at the South Central Regional Challenge in Las Lunas, N.M.
