COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Camacho earns first collegiate win as UTPB splits with Eastern New Mexico

PORTALES, N.M. Odessa High graduate Sierra Camacho picked up her first collegiate win for UTPB as the Falcons earned a split against Eastern New Mexico in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader Sunday at the Greyhound Softball Complex.

The Falcons bounced back with a 13-3 victory in the second game after falling 4-3 in eight innings after Kianna Galindo drove in a run off a sacrifice fly to win the game.

Camacho pitched six innings in the second game, recording four strikeouts. UTPB held a 5-0 lead throughout the game’s first five innings, before adding eight runs in the top of the sixth.

Aracely Araiza led the Falcons (6-32 overall, 4-24 conference) with four runs driven in while Abby Hernandez added three runs batted in. Tianna Boone paced the Greyhounds (4-21, 4-20) with three runs driven in.
