COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Brown pitches third no-hitter as Odessa College sweeps El Paso Community College

EL PASO The Odessa College softball team closed out a sweep of El Paso Community College Saturday on the road.

Aydenne Brown threw her third straight no-hitter to lead the Lady Wranglers to a 13-0 win in Game 1 and Odessa College closed out the series with a 17-1 Game 2 victory.

The first game was close after two innings when the Lady Wranglers led by two, but they took control with a five-run third inning.

Odessa College added six more runs in the fourth and fifth inning, recording 17 hits before the contest ended.

Michaella Baker had five RBIs in the opening contest, while Brown struck out nine and allowed no hits or runs.

She walked one batter.

Odessa College wasted no time building a big lead in Game 2, going ahead by 12 runs through two innings.

El Paso Community College got on the board in the bottom of the third, but the Lady Wranglers added six more runs before the game ended in the fifth.

Reagan Hillis had four RBIs in that game, while Rayna Cruickshanks allowed three hits and struck out three.

Over four games played against El Paso Community College, the Lady Wranglers outscored their opponent 62-1 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Wranglers (33-3 overall, 7-1) continue conference play against Frank Phillips College, starting the series at 1 p.m. April 15 in Borger.
