COLLEGE GOLF: Odessa College men finish fourth at Division I championship

After four days of competition, the Odessa College men’s golf team finished fourth at the NJCAA Men’s Division I Championship at The Rawls Course in Lubbock.

Brandon Smith finished a team-best fourth overall after scoring of 72-71-72-67 to tally a total of 282.

Odessa College shot a team score of 281 on the final day of competition Friday. The 7-under-par performance was enough to leap over Central Alabama College for a top-four finish.

Central Alabama was three strokes behind Odessa College in fifth place.

Indian Hills College won the title with an overall score of 1131. Iowa Western College finished nine strokes behind in second place.

Joel Dunford, of Iowa Western, had the top individual performance after finishing with a total score of 273.

Midland College finished 10 strokes ahead of Odessa College to take third place.
