The UTPB football team will continue its nonconference portion of the 2023 season with a road trip to Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bolivar, Mo.
The Falcons enter at 1-1, having lost to Western Colorado, 35-27, last week in Gunnison, Colo.
The Bearcats are also 1-1 for the season, having defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State, 65-7, to start the season before losing to Black Hills State, 39-33 last week.
UTPB is looking to avenge last year’s loss to Southwest Baptist, having lost to the Bearcats 41-17 in Midland in 2022.
UTPB will be back at home on Sept. 23 against West Texas A&M to start Lone Star Conference play.
