COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Kelly’s interception return spurs Falcons

MONMOUTH, ORE. UTPB’s Hayden Kelly returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown with 40 seconds remaining to play to help the Falcons to a 27-24 victory against Western Oregon Saturday in the Pacific Northwest.

The interception return proved to be the game-winner after Western Oregon drove the field and scored a touchdown with three seconds remaining to play.

UTPB improved to 2-2 overall, 1-1 in Lone Star Conference.

Western Oregon dropped to 1-3, 0-2.

Dylan Graham was 34-of-52 passing for 238 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception, for the Falcons.

Gunnar Abseck caught nine passes for 50 yards and one touchdown, with MJ Link finishing with six receptions for 49 yards and one score.

The Falcons’ Jamil Pittman returned a fumble 26 yards for a touchdown with 2:59 remaining in the first half to give UTPB a 14-10 lead at the break.
