COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Wranglers hold off New Mexico Military Institute in overtime

The Odessa College men’s basketball team held off New Mexico Military Institute in overtime Thursday, grabbing a 104-101 victory.

It was the Wranglers’ 12th Western Junior College Athletic Conference victory of the season.

The contest was highly contested from the start, with Odessa College taking a three-point lead into the halftime break.

New Mexico Military Institute kicked up the pace in the second half and outscored the Wranglers 55-52 to send the game into overtime.

Anthony Marshall stepped up to lead the Wranglers to the win, scoring 12 points in overtime.

Marshall also led all scorers with 31 points, while Amiri Crowder led the Broncos with 25 points scored.

The Wranglers (21-5 overall, 12-0 conference) will face rival Midland College at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Chaparral Center in Midland.
