COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Wranglers come up short against Texans

LEVELLAND The Odessa College men’s basketball team came up short as the Wranglers lost to South Plains College 63-60 to close out the regular season in Monday’s road game.

With the loss, the No. 15-ranked Wranglers fell to 23-7 overall, 11-5 in WJCAC.

No. 2 South Plains College moved to 28-1, 14-1.

Odessa College was led in scoring by Damonze Woods and Esyah Pippa-White who each had 14 points while Dylan Sanders scored seven.

The Texans were led by Jabori Mcghee and Malique Ewin who each finished with 17 points while Jermahri Hill scored 13 points.

The Wranglers will next compete in the Region 5 tournament next week beginning on March 14 in Weatherford.

The bracket for the Region 5 tournament is still to be determined.
