COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB uses early scoring run to defeat Angelo State

SAN ANGELO Jordan Horn’s 25-point performance helped the UTPB men’s basketball team defeat Angelo State 71-57 in Lone Star Conference play on the road.

The Falcons took control after Angelo State got out to an eight-point lead to start the contest.

UTPB went on a 17-1 run and used the momentum from the scoring burst to take an 11-point advantage into the halftime break.

Horn helped the Falcons outscore the Rams 31-28 in the second half, securing UTPB’s fourth conference win of the season.

UTPB (12-9 overall, 4-5 conference) will face Western New Mexico in league play at 4 p.m. Saturday in Silver City, N.M.
