COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB defeats Western New Mexico for second straight win

SILVER CITY, N.M. The UTPB men’s basketball team used a strong second half to defeat Western New Mexico 73-68 in Lone Star Conference play Saturday on the road.

After leading by two points at the halftime break, the Falcons needed a late push to come away with the win.

Jordan Horn and Keyon Craddock gave UTPB that late boost by converting three free throws to keep the Mustangs from tying the score up.

Miles Daniels led the Falcons with 22 points, while Horn had 19.

It was UTPB’s second consecutive win after defeating Angelo State 71-57 Feb. 1 in San Angelo.

The Falcons (13-9 overall, 5-5) will look to make it three straight victories against Texas A&M International at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Falcon Dome.
