COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Jenkins help Wranglers stay unbeaten in WJCAC

ROSWELL, N.M. Daniss Jenkins scored a game-high 24 points as six Odessa College players finished in double figures during a 94-81 victory against New Mexico Military Institute Monday at the Godfrey Athletic Center.

Daniel Rivera added 16 points, Mike Rivera finished with 13, Dian Wright-Forde chipped in 12 and Dontrell Hewlett and Tre Richardson each had 10 in the victory.

The Wranglers improved to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play.

Odessa College did most of its damage from close range, hitting 52.6 percent (30 of 57) inside the three-point line. The Wranglers also went 16-of-18 from the free throw line.

Luis Varon led the Broncos with 19 points, with Jordan Nelson adding 16 in the loss.

The Wranglers return home to host Midland College at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the OC Sports Center.
