UTPB’s Lathaniel Bastian was named this week’s Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
The graduate student is the first Falcon to earn defensive honors since Jan. 22, 2018.
Bastian had a double-double week in helping UTPB go 2-0 this past week.
He had 10 points and 12 rebounds in a down to the wire 76-73 win over Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 7.
He then had 16 points and 17 rebounds in a 75-62 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Dec. 9.
The Falcons are now 7-2 overall, 3-1 in Lone Star Conference.
UTPB will next face Angelo State at 2 p.m. Tuesday in San Angelo.
