COLLEGE BASEBALL: Wranglers split doubleheader against Temple College

TEMPLE The Odessa College baseball team managed a sweep against Temple College on the road Saturday.

After falling by a 6-5 score in the first game, the Wranglers bounced back with a 5-2 win in Game 2.

Odessa College fell behind by four runs early in the opening contest, but tied it up with four runs in the fifth and sixth frames.

They took the lead in the top of the seventh, but a walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth helped Temple College pull away.

The Wranglers got out to a quicker start in the second game with five runs scored through the second inning and that was all they needed for the win, as Julius Carpio struck out two batters in seven innings pitched.

Odessa College (11-7 overall) will host Western Texas College at noon Tuesday at Wrangler Field.
