COLLEGE BASEBALL: UTPB puts up 23 runs in win over Oklahoma Christian

There were no shortage of runs as the UTPB baseball team defeated Oklahoma Christian 23-13 Friday at Roden Field.

The win came at the start of four-game weekend series in Lone Star Conference play.

Pitcher Cade Pollard was credited with the win on the mound for the Falcons while Matthew Shira took the loss for the Eagles.

UTPB finished with 21 hits and two errors while Oklahoma Christian had 10 hits and three errors.

The victory improved the Falcons’ to 20-27 overall and 18-27 in conference play.

The Eagles fell to 13-34, 13-32.

Ethan Flodstrom, Michael Clapperton, Brent Rigtrup and Mason Hamlin each had three hits to lead the Falcons.

Carson Johnson had four runs for UTPB.

Both teams will be back at it with a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday at Roden Field.
