The UTPB baseball team was picked to finish eighth in this year’s Lone Star Conference preseason poll which was released earlier this week.
Defending national and conference champion Angelo State was the overwhelming favorite as the Rams received 38 first place votes.
UT-Tyler was picked to finish second, receiving one first place vote.
St. Edward’s was picked to finish third, followed by Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M to finish in the top five.
UTPB is coming off a 23-27 record from last year.
The Falcons will begin the season at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 against St. Mary’s at Roden Field.
