COLLEGE BASEBALL: UTPB drops series finale against Texas A&M-Kingsville

The UTPB baseball team finished up its home series with a 5-2 loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville Sunday at Roden Field.

With the loss, the Falcons fell to 10-10 overall, 10-10 in Lone Star Conference while the Javelinas improved to 12-10, 10-10.

Texas A&M-Kingsville scored two runs in the top of the second inning and two more in the fourth.

The Javelinas added a run in the fifth for a 5-0 lead.

UTPB’s two runs came in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Texas A&M-Kingsville finished with 13 hits and no errors while UTPB had seven hits and two errors.

Pitcher Trevor Barth took the loss for the Falcons while Colton Taylor was the winning pitcher for the Javelinas.

UTPB will next face St. Edward’s at 1 p.m. Friday in Austin.
