COLLEGE BASEBALL: Odessa College sees season end at Region V Tournament

BIG SPRING The Odessa College baseball team saw its season come to an end Monday with an 11-2 loss against Cisco College in the Region V West Regional Finals at Big Spring Refinery Ballpark.

The Wranglers (23-26 overall) led 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning before a four-run fourth inning and three-run sixth inning helped Cisco College pull away.

Odessa College managed one more run in the bottom of the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a loss.

Brandon Rincones led Odessa College with three hits and drove in a run.

Fernando Gonzalez recorded four strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched, with Chandler David and Cade McGlade also seeing action on the mound for Odessa College.

Cisco College advanced to face McLennan College in a best-of-three super regional series to determine the automatic qualifier for the national tournament.
