HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Permian, OHS players earn All-District honors

The All-District 2-6A football team was released on Monday.

Permian running back Juzstyce Lara was named to the All-District First Team Offense while his teammate Isaiah Welton also earned First Team honors as well.

Odessa High wide receiver Ivan Carreon was also named to the All-District First Team as well as Permian’s Julio Madero at tackle and his teammate Noah Casas at guard.

Permian noseguard Bryan Pry was also named to First Team All-District.

First Team Defense included Permian’s Frank Alvarado and Sebastian Sanchez as well as Parker Haynes, Braden Garcia and Kheeaundre Abdul-Aziz.

Odessa High’s Dreyshon Douglas was named to First Team Defense while Permian’s kicker and punter Jacob Franco was named to First Team All District as well.

The District MVP went to Midland Legacy running back Damien Johnson while quarterback Marcos Davila was the Offensive MVP.

Defensive MVP went to Midland High safety Athen Dominguez while San Angelo Central quarterback Christian English was named the Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Midland Legacy head coach Clint Hartman and his staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Permian safety Braden Garcia was named the Co-Defensive Newcomer of the year along with Midland Legacy’s Cole Neatherlin and Midland High’s Tahj Harris.

The Panthers went 7-5 this season while the Bronchos went 5-4.
