Permian Basin Fair & Expo seeking Creative Arts entries

The 2023 Permian Basin Fair and Expo is looking for innovative art submissions. The Creative Arts committee announced in a press release that “A Day at the Beach” will be this year’s theme.

The Creative Arts competition is one of the largest events of its kind held in the Permian Basin. Every year, the fair showcases various arts, crafts, and collections of talents and skills during its 10-day run. Local artisans will submit children’s artwork, exquisite handmade quilts, and paintings, among other items.

The “A Day at the Beach” theme will include all divisions of Creative Arts. Special awards will be given to winners in each division. Entries will be accepted from noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, through Tuesday, August 29.

Visitors can explore the exhibits in Building “G” on the Ector County Fairgrounds throughout the fair’s run. The exhibits feature sewing, quilts, paintings, culinary arts, collections, crafts, and more. Live demonstrations will bring the talents to life as veterans and novices share their creativity on-site every day.

The 2023 Permian Basin Fair and Expo will take place September 1-10. For a complete list of general rules and regulations, visit pbfair.com.
