NUGGETS: You can do the seeking

By Jannie Linney

There is no hide and seek with God, where you and I are concerned. God knows where we are and what we are doing twenty four seven. Now He can hide Himself from us if He wants to. You see He wants us to seek Him with every ounce of our being. The Bible said “Seek the Lord while He may be found” [Is. 55:6]. David said, “Early will I seek Him” [Ps. 63:1]. David wanted to have time with the Lord before the day got too busy. “You will find Him if you seek Him” [Deut. 4:29]

I heard a teaching one time that this word seek means to beat a path. That was something I could relate to. I was raised on a farm. We had milk cows. They had a path beat out from the pasture to the barn, where their food and water was supplied. They followed that same trail every day. Over a period of time, that path was worn down into the dirt four to six inches deep. They never had to lose their way to the barn. All they had to do was to stay on the path that the leader cow had charted out that first time.

Once in a while a cow would wander off the path and get caught up in a thicket of bushes and thorns. Sometimes one would wonder off and get into a mud bog or over in another farmer’s field.. Then someone would have to go help them out of their dilemma.

Well, you see, Jesus came down to this earth pasture over 2,000 years ago and He charted a path for you and me. It was a definite course to guide us to the barn of eternal Life if we will accept what He did for us. The Bible says He will gather the wheat into His Barn. Studying proves the barn to be a Chamber. In that Chamber we communicate with Him. In there, we also find our food and Living Water.

Like those old cows, there are some that wander off that path that Jesus chartered for us and they get caught up in thorns of life [the Bible calls them cares of this world] Some get bogged down in things they feel they can’t get out of. There are those who get over in someone else’s business or in the wrong church. Some try to hide from God and think they have been too bad for God to forgive them. No one is too bad for God to love, and no sin is too big for Him to forgive. People may let you down, but God never will.

If you don’t like where you are and what you are doing, by all means don’t hide in it. Satan is a master in the fact of getting us into trouble, then bring us under shame and condemnation. Making us Think God is angry and finished with us. Remember Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He makes sin look beautiful in the form of a disguised trap. When he gets you hooked, he snaps the trap.

Seek God, He will help you out of the Thicket, the Bog or the Trap. God is the master of love and forgiveness. Under true repentance, He is quick to forgive, then tells us to go and sin no more. Don’t keep doing the same sin over and over. Repentance is “turning from” making a decision to turn from that sinful way.

You might like to ask forgiveness in true repentance now and get right with God? He has outstretched arms ready to receive you. But He does not play games, if you are serious, all you have to do, is speak to Him from your heart. Talk to Him as a true friend. He is the best Friend you will ever have! Seek Him!!!
