NUGGETS: You are valuable

By Jannie Linney

Circumstances of this world and sin may have dealt you a bad hand in this life so far, but it does not change the fact that you are a valuable commodity to God. He created you and He loves His creations. You were created in the image and likeness of God [Gen. 1:26]. The image means we look like God and the likeness means we have His personality. Now, not everyone allows those qualities to flow through them. It does mean God had a plan for you as He formed you in your mother’s womb, to be His children. Satan hates the plan of God. He hates you.

No sin is too big or too bad for God to forgive. No trauma, hurt or burden is too hard for God to fix. He wants to set us free. He does not want us in bondage or addicted to anything of this world. In fact, that is why Jesus came and went through all the torture, pain and agony He suffered. “He was rejected and despised of men, He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows: He was wounded for transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed” [Isaiah 53:3-5]. He has already paid for everything we will ever need. He is waiting for us to receive what we need from Him by faith in what He has done. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him” [Heb. 11:6]

He wants us to come to Him just the way we are. He will help us change! His plan for us is much bigger and better than anything we could imagine. God loves us, He wants the very best for us.

“Satan comes only to steal, and to kill and to destroy: but [God Said] I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly” [John 10:10]. Notice the word might – the choice is ours. We might have life. We choose Jesus and life, or we choose Satan by default.

We choose the abundant life in Christ Jesus, or we choose just an existence by default. There are only two forces on earth. We make the choice of the force of good or the force of evil. We make a decision for good or choose evil by default, by doing and accepting whatever comes our way. Satan sets traps. If we just flow along with whatever the world brings, we will fall into the trap.

It takes a conscious effort to follow Jesus. Faith sets God free to work in our lives and sin sets Satan free to do his dirty work. Faith in Jesus moves us toward “Life” so unbelief and sin moves us toward death. “The wages of sin is death” [Rom. 6:23]. People earn wages. People earn and deserve their payment. ”The gift of God is eternal life” [Rom. 6:23]. A gift has only to be received. Jesus is “Life.” We simply receive Jesus and all He paid for. He is the awesome Gift given by God.

The plan of God is the abundant Life. He created us for good. You are very valuable to God. Through the Bible, God gave us instructions on how to achieve that abundant life. He planned for us to have more than enough in every area of life. When we go to the store and buy something that is unassembled, we read all the instructions to be sure we get the object together right. Our lives are much more important than any object we might buy? We are all unassembled until we invite Jesus into our heart. Because we are so valuable to God, Jesus came as payment to buy back our right to be His sons. Has ever in life, anyone done so much for you? Do you feel unassembled today? If so, Jesus is the answer to any need you have. Jesus would have come and died for you if you were the only person in the world “You Are Valuable.”
