NUGGETS: Speak to the mountain

By Jannie Linney

We have talked about the tongue many times. We could never cover all that the Word of God says about what we say and the effect it has on our life. We saw that we are “Kings Kids” created in the image and likeness of God. How He created with words, and He created us to create with words. We can deny the word of God or we can study, believe and get in on the benefits.

“Wherefore my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear and slow to speak” (James 1:19).

“You change things with your words. whosoever shall say to the mountain , be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe, that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).

Say, Say, Say!

First we have to recognize what our mountain is, could it be sickness, debt, family dissensions, emotions? What is the thing that separates us from the peace of God? Then we decide what we will say to our mountain. Will the words we say build our mountain bigger and bigger, so that it is the only thing we can see, through fear, discouragement and unforgiveness, or will we speak to the mountain taking the authority that the Word of God says we have?

“Behold I give You Authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke10:19).

Now does all mean all, does nothing mean nothing? Serpents and scorpions could be so tiny that man calls them germs. If we look at them through a microscope, it might change our outlook on sickness and disease that Jesus carried for us. We have authority over all power of the enemy, If the serpents and scorpions are big or tiny, Jesus said nothing shall by any means harm us. We just have not been taught the truth of the word of God. Then someone tells us, and we think they are crazy, like the Pharisees did when the new doctrine of Jesus was introduced. It was not new, it was told many times and ways in the scripture. There was just no understanding of it.

We are constantly dealing with the enemy through people, neighbor, government, the store keeper, our children. We do not speak to people to stop them personally; we speak to the spirit that influences them to do the things they do that is not Godly. If we are the ones doing things that are not Christ-like, we speak to the thing that is influences us. See, we speak the “Word, of God” if we want Him to back us up (Mark 16:20). If we don’t believe the Word of God and stand firm in it, we will never convince Satan that we mean business. Therefore he would just ignore us, like we do the word of God and its power!

Jesus spoke death on the fig tree, and then He decreed, you will not bear fruit any more. He spoke on the first day of creation “Let there be Light” and then decreed the Light would be day and the darkness would be night. In His likeness we speak to the mountain to be gone, then decree that it will not produce fruit in our life anymore!

Jesus spoke to sickness and people were healed. He spoke to the demons and then we saw the person clothed and in their right mind. We try to be led by the Holy Spirit, what words to use and how to speak in each circumstance.

“Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only“ (James 1:22). “Speak to The Mountain.”
