NUGGETS: Fixed for life

By Jannie Linney

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” [John 5:24].

“He that heareth my Word” “He that has ears to hear, let him hear” [Matt. 11:15]. This is indicating that not everyone has ears to hear, likely because they don’t want to listen. Some are too busy to get into a position to hear. I’m sorry, but some have hearts that are hardened.

“And believeth on Him that sent me” This is not speaking of, believing that He exist. The devil and demons believe He exist and tremble at the thought. This is saying “believe on Him” believing on — is believing He will do what He says He will do, those who will trust Him in every situation of their lives. Knowing His word is true and relying on His truth. Those are the ones who have everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation.

“Hath everlasting life” Fixed for life. This is so true, but not an unconditional fix! All through the bible, the word says “if you do this, I will do that.” He tells us to endure to the end and we will be saved [Matt 10:22]. We can be existing, moving and breathing, still not having the “life” we are promised. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised” [Heb.10:22-23]. Why would He encourage us to draw near, with a true heart, have our hearts sprinkled from evil conscience, without wavering, if it wasn’t important. He said “Hold Fast” Why, If the promises are unconditional?

“And shall not come into condemnation” “There is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit” [Rom. 8:1]. Now let’s don’t overlook what it says here. It’s talking to those who are IN Christ Jesus. It’s not talking only about when you invite Jesus into your heart. It’s when you put on Christ. [Rom. 13:14-Gal. 3:27]. It says “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provisions for the flesh, to fulfil the lust thereof.”

When you put on Christ you have positioned yourself in a deeper relationship with Him. When you put on Christ, you are engulfed in Him making no provisions, no way for the flesh, “then” — there is no condemnation, desiring to walk after the Spirit! Glory!

“But is passed from Death into “Life” Now we see what we are talking about. “Fixed For Life.”

We are not just talking about life here on earth, yes that too, but we are talking about Eternal Life that begins here on earth. The Life Jesus came to purchase, the Life He suffered for, the Life He was crucified for, the Life He died for, Oh the awesome Life He gave us when He was resurrected up out of that Grave, when He pulled the devils fangs and paid the price of salvation and victory for all who will receive that Life in Him.

Do you have that “Life?” Have you been Born Again into that New Birth? Have you become a new creation? [2 Cor. 5:17]. Have you become more mature and put on Christ? You might want to pray with me — Sweet Jesus, Thank you for suffering and dying for me. Please forgive me for all my sins, and come into my heart. Teach me your ways; help me to mature, that I can become engulfed in you. I want all you have for me that I may be “Fixed For Life.”
