LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Vote for change

God’s Word was given not only to those who believe in Him and follow Him, but to all mankind. Unbelief in God does not excuse anyone from God’s ultimate judgment. As the U.S. Constitution is the highest law of the land (in America), so the Bible is the highest law of God.

In Ector County, it seems the above does not hold true anymore. A small group of people have taken upon themselves to have their own set of laws, set of rules they govern themselves to gain power. Disrespect for people to forge on with their political agendas. They seem to forget that “we are a nation of law and not of men.” John Adams. We are a Republic.

The rule of law is not to be confused with the rule of men. The rule of men refers to the arbitrary use of political authority for the betterment of individuals at the expense of others.

In Ector County, the Rule of Men seem to be the principle behind a group led by Tisha Crow, Chair of the Ector County Republican Party. Most of the precinct chairs in position were appointed by Tish Crow. The group also instituted several rules that will prevent anyone from running against them.

A couple of days ago, the Republican Party opposing the group led by Donna Kelm were having a Meet and Greet with their supporters. Kris Crow (husband of Tish Crow) crashed the party like thugs and goons from the good old days. Whatever their motivations were, it clearly shows that these people do not follow political and personal etiquette. Again, “the rule of men that is using political authority for their betterment” came into play. Power, Greed.

When I was working for the Hon. Judge Tryon Lewis, he stated this to me: “Gloria, we work for the people and for the betterment of the community.”

And I have forever subscribed to that. We serve the people. When you are in a position of leadership and power, you must humble yourself. I also remember telling Judge Lewis when he asked me why I want to run for Mayor. “I want to bridge the gap where everyone would get along and work together for the betterment of our community.”

It seems that all the resolutions, policies, rules, and help that our City and County need have been lost. The group in position not only with the Ector County Republican Party but most of those that sit in positions with the City Council and City Government are swarming in their personal agendas and abuse of power to inflict hurt to anyone that stands their way……..

But I firmly believe that the end of the day, there is a God who will right the wrong.

Please make sure you vote, ask your friends and families to vote on March 5, 2024. We have to do our part….. to make the much needed change.

VOTE FOR CHANGE.
