A runoff is near for the position of Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1. Judge Carlos Chavez now holds that position.
I recommended Judge Chavez to the commissioners court who interviewed the 3 candidates. After looking at their backgrounds, skill set, potential to perform the duties as Justice of the peace it became clear that his years of law enforcement experience was a deciding factor.
He has now assumed that position, not with a personal agenda to seek power or control or to be a group of people who seek to control local county government. Judge Chavez is and will be a public servant, Ms. Woodall just wants to work in public service, that is the difference. One wants to work for the public good, while the other seeks power, control.
I am very happy and proud that Judge Chavez has replaced me. Vote to keep Judge Chavez.
