Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a wildfire south of 2nd Street near the intersection of Trunk Street and South Pagewood Avenue adjacent to the West Texas Food Bank. According to Division Chief Bradley Reese who responded to the scene, initial reports claimed the wildfire was caused by a car fire but upon arrival OFR could not find the car in question. Three units from two stations responded to the call including Central Fire Station’s wildland unit and the fire was contained before any damage could be done to nearby businesses.
