White House Champion of Change and CEO and Co-Founder of Backyard Brains Greg Gage made a visit to lecture to students interested in neuroscience Thursday at New Tech Odessa. Gage spent time lecturing to students in various grades as well as taking time to answer questions and performing experiments on cockroaches to show the functionality of the brain.

Ector County Independent School District Innovation Specialist Jett Casas holds a cockroach used in a neuroscience experiment during a guest lecture by White House Champion of Change and CEO and Co-Founder of Backyard Brains Greg Gage Thursday afternoon at New Tech Odessa. Casas explained that one of the cockroach’s legs was amputated by Gage to perform an experiment to demonstrate the functionality of the brain and neurons to a group of NTO students interested in neuroscience.
