The Ector County Independent School District hosted the 2022 Regional Spelling Bee for 11 students from across Odessa Saturday morning at the Odessa High School Performing Arts Center. Shijay Sivakumar, 14, a quarter finalist in last year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee, won this years regional bee after correctly spelling “Ad Hominem” and will advance to this year’s national bee in Washington D.C..
