Battle of the Badges Blood Drive to take place

Vitalant is inviting everyone to one of Odessa’s biggest and most important blood drives.

The Battle of the Badges blood drive being held to help combat blood shortages at our local hospitals.

The Odessa Police and Fire Departments are coming together to donate blood and to challenge the Permian Basin community to step up and donate as well.

This blood drive is essential each year as it gets harder to maintain a robust blood supply during the summer months.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for all. This is why it is so important to
find a time out of your busy schedule to donate blood.

Anyone that donates will receive a special Battle of the Badges t-shirt and get the chance to save lives.

They will kick off blood drives off on June 7th at the Odessa Fire & Rescue located at 1100 W. 2nd Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Central Classroom and on June 8th we will continue at the Odessa Police Department located at 205 N. Grant St. also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The competition will end with two additional blood drives at the old Regal Cinema location at Music City Mall.

These two drives will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th and from Noon to 4 p.m. on June 17th.

Everyone is welcome to come donate. Be sure to let the Vitalant staff know which team you are donating for at the time of your appointment.
