MCHS Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network approve funds for purchase of new Philips Fetal Monitoring System

The Medical Center Health System Foundation Board has approved the funding for the purchase of a new Philips Fetal Monitoring System. The funds will come from Children’s Miracle Network and the total cost of this important monitoring system is $358,524.01.

The new Fetal Monitoring System will replace the old system and feature more than 17 new monitors, allowing MCH to keep all labor rooms open. This system will continue to help monitor infant safety, while simultaneously monitoring maternal vital signs allowing the hospital to safely provide care to our laboring moms and their babies.

“With the purchase of new fetal monitors, we are able to continue to provide safe care not only to each patient that comes to our unit, but also their unborn baby,” Kim Leftwich, Chief Nursing Officer, Medical Center Health System, said in a news release. “In every stage of pregnancy, whether coming in to rule out labor or for a scheduled visit, with this purchase, we are able to monitor the infant safely while simultaneously monitoring maternal vital signs. This equipment is used every day on every patient that comes through the doors of Labor & Delivery, and we are so thankful for Children’s Miracle

Network and their dedication to our community and department.”
