A 31-year-old Lamesa woman was killed in a rollover wreck and three children were critically injured late Sunday night 11 miles outside Lamesa.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jennifer Rebecca Duran was driving a Ford Expedition south on FM179 when, for unknown reasons, the Ford veered across the road and into the east barrow ditch. Duran over-corrected across FM179 into the west barrow ditch and the Ford rolled over.
Duran, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to DPS.
Three passengers, a 7-year-old boy, an 8-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl were taken to hospitals in Lubbock in critical condition. It’s unknown if they were wearing seatbelts.
A 5-month-old girl, who was properly restrained, was uninjured.
