Woman accused of assaulting boyfriend

Officers responding to a medical call Sunday ended up making an aggravated assault arrest.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers received a call from the 600 block of Lindberg Street about a woman who was unconscious. When they arrived, Amber Nino was being taken to Medical Center Hospital.

When officers went to speak with Nino’s boyfriend, they noticed he had blood on his neck and he was bleeding from a cut on the back of his head, the report stated. They also noticed he had a cut on one of his eyes and cuts on the bottom of his neck.

The man told the officers Nino had been drinking and during an argument with him began to throw things, including something that hit him in the back of the head, the report stated.

Officers found broken pieces of glass in the kitchen and a broken candle in the living room, the report stated.

Nino told officers she and her boyfriend had only verbally argued before she fainted and hit her head on a door frame, the report stated. Officers noted Nino did not have any injuries.

Nino was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She remained in the Ector County jail Tuesday on a $15,000 surety bond.
