The roadways turned deadly during the weekend following a number of accidents across Ector County.

A Houston man died after a fatal wreck Friday west of Odessa at the intersection of State Highway 302 and Farm to Market 1936.

A Texas Department of Public Safety release stated Ronaldo Reyes, 29, of Houston, died after the wreck and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Marc Gonzales, 20, of Odessa, was taken to Medical Center Hospital with incapacitating injuries, the release stated.

The release stated that a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Reyes, failed to stop at a stop sign traveling north on Farm to Market 1936, colliding with the 2015 Dodge Charger driven by Gonzales, which was traveling east on 302.

Monday, an MCH spokesperson was unable to provide an update on the condition of Gonzales, saying no recent patient records matched that name. Department of Public Safety media communication officials did not respond to requests to verify the name by Monday afternoon.

Man dead after wreck early Saturday

A Mission man is dead after a wreck early Saturday morning south of Odessa.

A Texas Department of Public Safety release stated Rogelio Camacho, 25, of Mission, died after a wreck around 4 a.m. Saturday, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Ray Christon, 43, of Troy, was involved but not injured. Their vehicles collided at the intersection of U.S. Highway 385 and Mescalero Drive, three miles south of Odessa.

The release states a 2007 Chrysler 300, driven by Camacho, was at a stop sign on Mescalero Drive as a 2017 Ram 1500, driven by Christon, was traveling south on 385. The release states the Chrysler failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and entered the intersection, colliding with the Ram.

Man dead after motorcycle wreck Saturday

An Odessa man is dead after a motorcycle wreck Saturday morning just outside Odessa.

A Texas Department of Public Safety release states Gerald Ridling, 70, died after a wreck at 42nd Street west of Farm to Market 1936 around 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

The release stated Ridling was driving a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when the motorcycle failed to control speed and struck the rear of a stopped Ford pickup at a stop sign on 42nd Street. The driver of the Ford, Ruben Ortiz, 47, of Odessa, was not injured.

Ridling was pronounced dead by an attending physician at Medical Center Hospital.

Florida man in critical condition after Saturday wreck

A Florida man is in critical condition after a major crash Saturday in Odessa.

An Odessa police release states that Shawn Little, 51, of Florida, was taken to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash at Grandview Avenue and East Loop 338 around 11 p.m.

Little was listed in critical condition at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, according to an MCH spokesperson.

The release stated that police investigation revealed that a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Little was traveling north in 7000 block of Grandview, before it veered off the roadway and Little was thrown from the motorcycle.

There were no reports of other injuries, and the release stated no other vehicles were involved.

Woman dead after being struck by SUV

An Odessa woman died Saturday after being hit by a vehicle in a pedestrian crosswalk Friday.

An Odessa police release states Petra Lopez, 70, was pronounced dead around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Lopez was struck in a crosswalk at the corner of Golder Avenue and 19th Street on Friday just before 8 a.m., the release states, when a 2011 Dodge Durango, driven by Kimberly Vela, 26, of Odessa, was traveling east on 19th Street and attempting to turn north on Golder before striking Lopez, who was walking east at a crosswalk. Lopez was taken to Medical Center Hospital before being pronounced dead Saturday.

The release states that Odessa police’s investigation is continuing.
