Washing machine fight leads to arrest of three brothers

Three brothers were arrested on assault charges Tuesday night after they said they fought over a washing machine.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers received a fight call from the 900 block of East Monahans Street and when they arrived, Shaquinten Harrington, 42, told them he was trying to remove his clothes from the washing machine when his twin brothers, Lashawn and Demond Harrington, 41, unplugged it. He said he pushed Lashawn away when Lashawn got into his face and then both Lashawn and Demond jumped him and began to hit and kick him.

Shaquinten said he got away, retrieved a bicycle tire pump from a shed, came back in and hit Lashawn as Lashawn sat on the couch, the report stated. He also said he swung at Demond, but wasn’t sure if he made contact.

Demond Harrington

Lashawn and Demond both said Shaquinten punched Lawshawn first during the argument over the washing machine, the report stated. They also said their brother then went outside, returned with the bike pump and hit them both with it.

Officers found the washing machine in the hallway with a large amount of water on the floor, according to the report.
