UTPB to host FAFSA/TASFA event

UT Permian Basin is hosting a FAFSA/TASFA night at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1. The event will be in the Mesa Building room 2130 (second floor).

There have been several changes to the FAFSA this year and UTPB is available to help. You don’t have to attend or be planning to attend UTPB to take advantage of this resource. At the event, UTPB’s team of experts will walk you through the process of filling out your FAFSA. Those in attendance are asked to bring their W2’s for the year 2022.

Changes to the FAFSA include:

  • Eligibility expanded
  • Filling out the form is easier than ever ( max number of questions went from 108 to 36)
  • The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) will be replaced with the Student Aid Index (SAI)
  • The FAFSA form will be expanded from two languages to the 11 most common languages spoken by English learner students and their parents
