TxDOT meeting focuses on Highway 115 in Andrews, Ward, Winkler Counties

KERMIT /WINK/PYOTE The Odessa District of Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled a virtual public meeting regarding proposed improvements to Highway 115 in Andrews, Ward and Winkler counties, a press release stated.

The virtual public meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Following the virtual public meeting, the presentation will remain available for viewing through Oct. 14.

The proposed project covers 47 miles and goes from Spur 247 near Pyote in Ward County to Highway 128 in Andrews County.

This project is in the planning stage. No construction funding or construction timeline has been established yet.

While nothing is planned within cities in this project, the project consists of the following:

>> Widen the rural sections of Highway 115 and make it a four-lane divided highway with two lanes in each direction.

>> Include a center median.

>> Include turn lanes and acceleration lanes in selected locations throughout the project area.

The proposed improvements would require additional right of way. Two non-residential structures would be displaced.

To attend the virtual public meeting, go to txdot.gov and keyword search “SH 115 South.” The meeting will open at 5 p.m. Wednesday and be available through Oct. 14. The meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The virtual public meeting webpage will feature maps and exhibits for the public to review and comment on. The public may submit comments using any of the following methods:

Comments must be received or postmarked by Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, to be included in the official record of this virtual public meeting.
