A text, email and voice message to Wilson & Young Middle School parents Friday notified them of a threat.
Ector County ISD Chief Communications Officer Mike Adkins said it was shared among students at the school and a copy went to the Odessa Police Department.
ECISD police investigated and were not able to find an actual threat or track its origin. There was no school named in the threat. The investigation started late Thursday and into Friday morning.
Adkins said ECISD gave the information to parents early Friday morning so they could decide whether to send their students to school. He added that the district always takes these threats seriously and investigates them, but they were unable to trace it to anyone or anyplace.
