Teenager accused of shooting at vehicle

An 18-year-old Odessan was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he was accused of shooting at another vehicle from a pickup truck.

According to the Odessa Police Department, officers received a shots fired call around 2:45 p.m. from 5th Street and West County Road and they later learned Ricardo Garcia fired a weapon at another vehicle and threw the weapon out of his truck before fleeing.

A police report indicates officers found an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle in the roadway and several shell casings in the Floyd Gwin park parking lot.

Garcia was arrested on suspicion of deadly conduct, prohibited weapon and discharging a firearm in certain municipalities.

As of Wednesday night he remained in the Ector County jail on surety bonds totaling $22,000.
