Summer programs continue at Ector County Library

The summer reading kickoff party at the Ector County Library took place on May 26, which included face painting, balloon animals, snow cones and the generosity of many community partner sponsors.

Popular events thus far included the Pirate Scavenger Hunt, theatre production of “Treasure Island” and music from Will Parker and the Make Believe Band, the press release stated.

Upcoming highlights include:

  • Ocean Painting from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters Book Club from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
  • Dungeons & Dragons from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
  • Ocean Story Cubes 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Ector County Library was first established in 1938. It is free and open to the public, serves all ages, has an extensive collection of 200,000 print books, over 20,000 e-books, nearly 100 databases and serves a population of over 160,000 people locally and regionally.
